Andy Dorman, Director of Coaching and Player Development

Andy Dorman serves as the Director of Coaching for the Charlestown Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). He is responsible for developing and implementing the club's comprehensive training methodology across all divisions, from In-House (K2-2nd Grade) through competitive Travel teams.

Professional Playing Background

Andy Dorman brings significant professional playing experience to his coaching role. He played collegiate soccer at Boston University before being drafted into Major League Soccer (MLS) in 2004 by the New England Revolution.

Dorman spent seven seasons with the Revolution (2004–2007, 2013–2014) and was a key part of the team that won the 2007 U.S. Open Cup. He also played professionally in the Scottish Premiership for St. Mirren (2008–2010) and for Crystal Palace in the English Football League Championship (2010–2012). His high-level experience informs the structure and quality of the training sessions provided to CYSA players.

Coaching Philosophy

Andy Dorman authors the club's specific training plans—including Curriculum A, Curriculum B, the Fun Curriculum, and the Technical Sessions. His primary focus is ensuring that every player receives structured, high-quality instruction tailored to their skill level, maximizing individual development and technical skills while providing appropriate challenges for coaches and players alike.
