What is the difference between In-House and Travel soccer?

In-House (K2-2nd Grade): Focuses on fun, fundamentals, and building a genuine love for the game in a positive, local environment. Typically involves one practice and one game per week.

Travel (Grades 3-12): Offers competitive development with structured training and league play against other local towns (MYSL). Requires two practices per week, player evaluations, and travel outside of Charlestown.

What ages/grades can register for CYSA?

CYSA offers programs for players from K2 through high school (Grade 12), including our In-House, Travel, and Winter Indoor programs.

Does CYSA offer programs outside of the Fall and Spring seasons?

Yes. We offer a Winter Indoor Soccer Program with sessions typically running from November through March. We also host Camps and Clinics for intensive skill acceleration during holiday and summer breaks.

How do I find out how much the registration fees are?

Registration fees are set by the Board each season. Please visit the Registration Center for the current fee structure, which includes details on sibling discounts and scholarship availability.

3. TeamSnap Access and Use

How do I get access to my child's team schedule in TeamSnap?

TeamSnap access is granted once your child has been officially assigned to a team and the roster has been finalized. You should receive an email invitation from TeamSnap to the primary email address used during registration.

I haven't received a TeamSnap invite yet. What should I do?

If rosters have been announced and you haven't received an invitation: 1. Check spam/junk folder. 2. Refresh your app. 3. If still having trouble, contact the CYSA Registrar at to confirm your email address on file is correct.

How do I add another parent or guardian to receive team updates?

Only the primary account holder (who registered the player) can add additional family members. You must log in to TeamSnap (app or website), go to your team's roster or settings, and find the option to "Invite Member" or "Add Family Contact."

I have multiple Teamsnap logins for different teams - what do I do?

Go to http://merge.teamsnap.com/ and follow the instructions provided in the window that opens. Once you have finished merging, close or refresh your browser or restart your device, then log in with the email username you chose to merge your accounts into.

While the master schedule is posted Here. TeamSnap is the definitive source for your child’s specific team schedule, game times, and real-time updates regarding rainouts or field closures.

What is the Concussion Protocol?

CYSA follows the Mass Youth Soccer Concussion Protocol for all suspected head injuries. Any player suspected of suffering a concussion must be immediately removed from play and cannot return without written clearance from a healthcare professional. How are players placed on Travel teams?

CYSA uses a placement process, not a tryout. Player assignment is based on a combination of independent field evaluations (held each Spring) and coach evaluations to ensure teams are grouped by comparable skill level for competitive balance. Every registered player is placed on a team.

What is the commitment requirement for top-tier teams?

For placement on a top-tier Travel team, players must commit to attending at least one practice per week and the majority of games throughout the season.
